There’s a national shortage of hand sanitizer so we’ve shifted all available capacity at our compounding pharmacy to help address the need. We’re a small team, so we’re making as much as we can and selling it at close to our costs. We’re donating all profits to the WHO COVID-19 Response Fund.

Spray enough into your palms to completely wet both of your hands

Rub your hands together until they’re completely dry (around 20 seconds).

If your hands are visibly dirty, it’s best to use soap and water.

Evidence shows that washing your hands with soap and water is the most effective way to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, when soap and water are not available, a hand sanitizer with greater than 60% alcohol is the next best option.

Apostrophe brings dermatology to your home with online visits and personalized prescriptions shipped to you. We’re here to support ownership over your skin health by bringing the experts to you. While our compounding pharmacy is typically used for creating personalized skin medications, we’ve shifted our extra capacity to help tackle the national shortage of hand sanitizer. We believe that scientists and doctors are the experts in the room, especially during times of crisis. We’re here to support them by donating to the WHO COVID-19 Response Fund.

What does a dermatologist say about dry skin from continually washing your hands?

“Frequent hand washing is important but can be very hard on the skin. Alternating with a hand sanitizer can help when appropriate. Regardless, regular use of a moisturizer is extremely important to prevent skin irritation. I recommend applying a fragrance-free moisturizer all over your hands multiple times throughout the day, with an extra thick layer right before bedtime.”
– Dr. Aimee Paik, Medical Director at Apostrophe
